about THRESH|HOLD
Thresh|Hold was created in collaboration with Javier De Frutos, the Venezuelan-born, acclaimed Latinx director, choreographer, and designer. The physically daring quintet takes us through the labyrinthine mind of a young woman as she confronts lost love, sacrifice, and longing. Fragmented memories burst back and forth through a moving door, catching us in an experience at once raging and tender, desolate and intimate. With psychedelic shifts in time and emotionally charged choreography, Thresh|Hold presents a true synergy between Pilobolus and Javier De Frutos, who has been named ‘one of the most influential people in the UK’ by The Evening Standard.

The Revival
The revival of Thresh|Hold was made possible in part by funding from the Consulate General of Spain in New York and was originally commissioned by the American Dance Festival with support from the Doris Duke/SHS Foundations Award for New Dance, and by the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes a great nation deserves great art.
