A fond farewell from Renée Jaworski, Executive/Co-Artistic Director, and Matt Kent, Artistic Director:
Hannah Klinkman has left the building. She has left the country. She is on the other side of the world.
She came into the Pilobolus orbit through Momix, and when she arrived, we knew we had a true Pilobolean.
We went through a lot together. Part of the pod during the shutdown. She helped create new works and bring to life classics, outdoors, on stage, on sculptures, in black boxes. Her fingerprints are in the clay of pieces we made together. Her creativity went beyond technique and movement—she was a real partner in making work and creating worlds.
As ethereal and magical as she was onstage, she was a hardworking, down-to-earth, get-things-done kinda gal behind the scenes. She sewed. She mopped the floor before rehearsal. She contributed to all the invisible forces needed to make art—not only the pretty stuff, but the hard, frustrating stuff, the endless work of making something better.
We miss her already and look forward to seeing her again. She will always have a home here on Planet Pilobolus.
