Darkness. Deep under the earth. Three lights . Searching. And then... A body.
Working with Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn, Pilobolus premiered Echo in the Valley at the 2017 American Dance Festival. Starting off in this partially illuminated world, Echo in the Valley uses just one small wooden platforms manipulated magically by the dancers to explore resilience and hope as antidotes to the often dark fate of the physical here and now.
Echo in the Valley was commissioned with support from the SHS foundation and the Reinhart Fund.
Echo in the Valley was created through Pilobolus's International Collaborators Project,
